Open diff only, no LSD on REPU. REPU diff is totally different diff than Rx4 and Rx7. Short 4.625 on 74 and 75 model. Got progressively taller up to 3.90 (I think) in 77.
Don't know how strong the auto is, but it should take anything unabusive short of forced induction or bridge/peripheral port.

Lots of those auto.'s
failed around 45K... should be avoidable with preventive maintenance. I hear some like that tranny for drag racing... Rearend ratios differed for manual vs. automatic, and changed over the years as well, at least according to the reference I have:
'74 manual 4.625 , auto. 4.375
'75 " 4.375 , " 4.111
'76 " 4.111
'77 " 3.900

Wasn't there a thread here saying Rx4 auto is same as REPU auto?
79-80 trans works great in REPU, shift lever slides in without any cutting. You need to fab a small metal plate to bolt between rx7 stock trans mount and REPU crossmember. I took pics of mine and will post later when the roll's developed.
S4 shiftlever is way far back, not sure if the bellhousing is too big to fit and all that jazz. see if anyone else here has done it.
REPU Mazda Factory shopmanuals show up on ebay.com sometimes. Start around $25 and usually stay around there. They are rare and very out of print though. Chiltons makes a decent Mazda truck shop manual that does cover REPU, but much more photos and diagrams of B2000/B2200 than REPU. Not bad at all though. 2nd choice.
