So the other day I was talking to a friend about ignition timing and we got to talking about vaccuum advance. He mentioned something about the mazda rotary carbs being setup to get vaccuum from in front of the butterflies when it hit me that I was pulling vaccuum from behind them since my Weber doesnt have any place for vaccuum lines. Boy was that a stupid problem I have had for the last 2 years, I had timing set so that it was just a little advanced at 2000 rpm but now I realize under throttle it would retard, ALOT! Any way, I just completely disconnected the vaccuum advance and the truck runs 1000x better. Boy did I feel stupid when I realized almost all my problems of the last 2 years were from that.
Here are some pictures of my entertainment the weekend after I made this realization.

Yeah, I knew you didnt use the vaccuum advance awhile back and thought I would try not using it as well. But at that time I had enough other problems that disconnecting it did nothing to help me. Now that the thing has been running somewhat decently the last few months I finally tried disconnecting the vaccuum again and it made a world of difference! I am done with vaccuum advance for good now.
