R2 Diesel
Hi ..just found this site.I'm in Australia,& own an 87 Courier with Mazda R2 diesel engine.The vehicle has served me well ,but I'm having problems with the aluminium/alloy head,which is cracked in several places.I'm told that this is a common problem with R2 heads.I've thought about modifying the cooling system,or installing the earlier S2 motor,which has a cast head.Has anyone had similar problems?
I don't want to fix this problem,only to have it recur in the near future...there must be a way to deal with these heads(apart from replacing vehicle with a Toyota!)Thanks.....JIM.
