I had the header on my 83 RX-7(now on my 78 RX-7) Jet-hott coated maybe 8-9 years ago. So far it has held up pretty good aside from needing a re-coat once due to pitting from rust a year or so after it was done. It could really use another re-coat now,but I am too lazy, and it doesn't bother me anymore. I would suggest against getting the 2000* super duper coating that I got(that was more expensive by the way),and just get the normal coating that is smooth, and cheaper. The heavy duty stuff seems rough, and pourous, and gathers moisture in itself, and then rusts. The Jet-hott coatings are great for reducing under hood temps, and I would get it again, but this time I wouldn't go crazy with the high temp stuff.

I had the 2000*F coating done

and it really reduced underhood temps and made a little more hp (better thermal efficiency).

The bottom of the header, that faces the ground, has a few specs of rust but i'm not worrying about it. I'll check it out again when I see the car over Xmas (in storage). I don't know if metal dust got on it from all the grinding, sanding, paint stripping I did in the driveway while restoring the REPU....

It has not flaked or chipped. The surface of that coating does seem rough, I can't tell if it's porous or not but it is holding up just great.

This is for the 12a J Bridgeport in my rx7, which has EGT's get up to 1650*F inside the header at WOT and I drive it hard on the track.

thanks for the reviews. i need to get some work done on my exhaust system, so i figure its not much more work to get the header down and send it out. it looks like a pretty good product and has some legit benefits.

anyone else?
