20B rotary truck

One of the techs at the dealership I work at has aquired the front clip of an eunos cosmo. He`s going to put it in a
late 80`s mazda truck. If any of you are interested I will follow his progress and post some pictures of this project.

update

after doing an initial mockup it looks like my buddy needs a bigger truck, he wants to keep the twin turbos and the a/c
but there`s little room left for things like the radiator and steering box, this is going to be fun. I`ll try to get some pics soon.

Ditch the AC!

Keep the turbos if possible...the radiator can be custom redone to fit a few inches forward, within the front chassis metal, if downsized a bit. Would that be enough to keep the steering?

it just might fit

after some careful measuring and a lot of little adjustments
the a/c compressor is going to clear the steering box and it
looks like the radiator may stay in the same location, of course electric fans will be required. another good question
where to put the intercooler and should it be air to air or
air to water? try for pics this weekend.

Intercooler

I'm doing an air/liquid intercooler setup on my T2 transplant. It isn't complete yet, but when done, I'll have a direct drop-in kit for Turbo-2 engines, with radiator, and pump.

Advantage: no cutting of hoods or firewalls. Heat soak goes away as soon as pump starts.

questions

are you modifying an existing intercooler setup or are you
fabricating your own from scratch? if you are modyfing one
what did you start with?

I will not be using any other core.. it is a new core from Spearco. It is designed to drop right into the stock location for the Turbo2.

Reason for this: Air/Liquid intercoolers are constructed differently, and have less pressure drop, and higher cooling potential than Air/Air designs.
