NU REPU
If I could have what I wanted I'd like to see a standard sized (pre-93 b-series) w/ an N/A Renesis for the minitruck market which has been vocal and clearly exists out there.
But the only thing that is getting me to fork open my wallet is a supercharged Renesis in a "mid" sized chassis with four-door options. Something that culd directly compete in size and performance with the supercharged Nissan Frontier, but that with a true half-tonne payload capacity, and a towing package (suspension, wheelbase, brakes and extra engine/trans cooling capacity) to tow a good sized trailer with car and extra weight. I need a truck that can pull a car trailer full of toolboxes and extra parts plus the car, and do it cross country if needbe. Can't have the darn thing getting squirrley just because the wheelbase is too small and its underbraked.
I really need a truck that can do this, and I really want it to be rotary powered. There's no reason why we can't see 350HP/220 footpounds of torque from a supercharged model which while perhaps not as 'tweakable' as a turbo would cut down on the number-one killer of rotaries:
Heat.
ESPECIALLY if they mate an automatic to it, as we've all seen on the FD's the high heat generation of hte turbo setup with the auto trans is a true recipe for disaster.
That Frontier is a popular truck. Its a good place to START, and build it up from there.
