It's true--those drums can be a real bitch! I've spent hours pounding 'em every which way with a hammer on a block of wood before... can recommend "Knock 'er loose" brand penetrating lubricant (not a joke...) Backing 'em way off could still be essential, parking brake or not... of course, if your studs are a bit less than straight...
