NOS B1800 Ignition Switch with Keys

I have a parts truck that was modified to use this switch. Looked fairly straight forward (Change pigtail to plug) so I picked one up for my driver. Nice price for NOS Mazda part.

Just wanted to make sure I was clear... This is not plug and play. You'll need to make an adapter or hack into your harness to get this to work.

Still better than using your wife's key though ;-)

My switch is getting senile (need to switch it a few times to get it to work) so it's worth it for me as I can't afford to buy the correct REPU part.

So are the wires to the switch in a differant order? Or do you have to adapt the switch holder to except the new switch? Or both? Eather way your right it is better than using the wifes key.

Thank you for the heads up, I would have figured it out after pulling alot of my almost gone hair out. I'll try and find and B1800 manual and figure out what has to be changed and share it here.

Here is a side by side of the stock repu(right) and the B1800 (left) Looks like they are identical as fare as wire location although the orientation tab is in a different spot and when you put the switch in the truck the plug is vertical rather than horizontal. So from my end it looks like other than the orientation tab all will work without a rewire. Excellent find Mazdamark!

Very cool, spokanerxdude! I guess the switch on my 74 was not re-wired. My 75 (which I always thought were just 74s that did not sell) has a switch with a pigtail, like the one in Bruce T's auction here:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Mazda-1976-1977-REPU-ignition-switch-PN-3775-75-980-dealer-vintage-NOS-rare-/281235572000?pt=Vintage_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item417af24520&vxp=mtr

I'd just planned on cutting the wires at the switch and re-terminating them with female spades (or the plug on my 74) to make it work.

Please let us know if yours works once installed...

I don't know for sure but it must be that it changed in 77 or part way through 76 because I have a 74 and a 76 and they both have this same switch W/O the pigtail.
