THESE WERE ORDERED REBUILT FROM MANA THROUGH THE DEALER PARTS DEPARTMENT. BEFORE MAZDA USA DISCONTINUED THESE ENGINES A FEW CAME THROUGH DUE TO LACK OF GOOD ENGINE CORES AND ENGINE PHASE OUT, AS NEW WITH ALL NEW ROTORS.. ROTOR HOUSINGS AND SIDE HOUSINGS THESE ENGINES EVEN HAVE NEW FLYWHEELS. THE FRONT DIST HOUSING AND OIL PAN IS THE ONLY THING NOT NEW.THEY DO COME ON THE ENGINES THAT ARE FULLY ASSEMBLED. I PULLED 3 OF THESE NEW ENGINES ASIDE BACK IN 1994 PUT ONE IN MY 75 ROTARY TRUCK AND PLACED THE OTHER TWO IN DRY STORAGE IN MY SHOP IN CALIFORNIA.. ATF TRANS FLUID WAS PUT IN THE CHAMBERS AND ENGINE SEALED TO KEEP IT FRESH. I WILL BE SELLING ONE OF THESE ENGINES ON E BAY IN THE FUTURE OR MIGHT CONCIDER AN OFFER NOW ON ONE OR BOTH OF THESE ENGINES. YOU CAN CALL ME AT MY SHOP IN CALIFORNIA (530)621 4950 MAZDAS ONLY SERVICE OR E MAIL AND IF YOU LEAVE YOUR NUMBER I CAN CALL YOU IF YOU WOULD LIKE....WALT KERN

I am interested in the engine. I have a 74 RX-4,and a 74 REPU,and I would love a stock engine in either as both have different motors in them. Also I am interested in the steering wheel as both my cars don't have stock steering wheels, and I would like one to have one.

If they're for '74 - '77... what year porting on the plates... and are the new flywheels the REPU-specific heavy one, or of the rx-4 variety?

Ballpark asking price?

Appreciate your email, Walt...

...but if I were your buyer, I would still want to know if that engine featured the 1974 intake porting, or the more restrictive later version.

(In the same vein, for anyone reading here that was curious, Walt stated that this motor has the rx4 flywheel.)

Good luck with your auction!
