How many old school cars were there? Many R-100s or even 1200s? How about RX-2s? All albums I've seen so far seem to be 95% 3rd gens, I hope someone took a few of the old cars. Not to knock 3rd gens or anything (I used to have one) but after about the 50th photo they kinda all blend together.

It was nice meeting you sparky and shooting the breese. best of luck with the restoration. i saw the orange repu down the street. It was great we met some other repuheads walking around and talked shop. That one guy might sell one of his REPUs and hopefully he'll post it here like we asked.

I counted 8 REPUs including the super clean baby blue one in the courtyard and a mint green one by the garage. Plus Dan Mazella's white Turbo ][ which caught many people's eye.

There were some exceptionally clean and sharp R100's there, and a handful of deuces and 3's. Even a 3 wagon! I'll post pics later this week. Didn't see a 1200 or Luce. I got tired of looking at all the disco 3rd and 2nd gens and prefer the old school rotaries.

Later!

Nice photos guys, thanks. Yeah I was tempted to take the 1200 down there, though I'm not sure it would have a place. It still has the original 1200 engine so it doesn't really fit into the rotary category, but it's definitely an old school rare Mazda. Have yet to see another one in CA.

Nice!

...but what's with the (Rotaried, I gather) 510's? Interesting, too, to hear 2nd and 3rd gen's being referred to as 'disco', when our li'l beasts were more a part of that '70's era... Still, I know what ya mean, Brad!

Yeah the disco comment is what could also be referred to as how they have been modified to look, also can be described as RICE, not necessarily when they were built.

Our pimp trucks do scoot but don't necessairly LOOK like a pimped Cadillac.......:)

here I am sitting behind my weekend toy

Wearing REPU shirt!

REPU isn't registered nor ready for a car show so I brought the bridgeported racecar instead.

Does anyone here know any of the guys who videotaped me buzzing down the sidestreets before we were allowed to park in the lot?

After Sevenstock I drove down to San Diego for Sunday evening and Monday morning. Well Monday I went to the automotive museum at Balboa park. While hanging around for 10 minutes for them to open I saw a REPU drive by around back of the buildings. Once I get inside I was checking out the cars and one of the museum workers comes over and starts talking about the cars in there. Somewhere along the line I ask if he knows who drives the REPU and it turns out to be him! I told this newly discovered owner Ralph about sevenstock going on this weekend, tell him I had my REPU there and we talked REPUs for a good 30 minutes. His is a '75 purchased in '79, he is the original owner. That thing is in immaculate condition, I could only find oine tiny spot of rust on it. No dings even in the bed, and the original paint still shines. It is so incredibly rare that I see a REPU anywhere, what a coincidense that something like this happens on Sevenstock weekend.

I told him about the forum, but I received kind of a blank stare in return. I got the impression that he wasnt really much of an internet user.

I work in the implementation department @ ADP, getting new clients up on our time and attendance service. I have a nice sidejob that pays well (albeit infrequently) that helps fund the blue weekend toy. It took 4 years to get the car where it is today too and I do most of my own work.

We will be hiring but the pay here is, well... below market average and they work us hard.... sometimes ...... ;)
