Could you explain why that would be a good thing to do. I am new to the whole rotary thing. I would very much like to know why it would be best to have it run for a while before doing anything with it after sitting for sometime.

Thank you,
:)

just start it

been there, done that.

some people like to pour Automatic Transmission Fluid or other such nonsense into the motor first to clean it out and get carbon off the combustion chamber. And fill up the street with white smoke!

Not a bad idea to pull the plugs and hand crank it to spit out any coolant or oil that could have leaked into the combustion chamber. If you run it on the starter with plugs out it'll slowly eventually build oil pressure and circulate oil thru the lubrication system so that when you start it, it'll be pre-lubed

another trick is to get 3 feet of heater hose and remove the oil filter, stick heater hose on the threaded tube and pour a quart or 2 down the heater hose. It'll go straight to the bearings and rotors and pre-lube.

Even a simple oil change

prior to firing one that's sat forever is a major improvement! Then, when everything has had a chance to get re-acquainted, is a good time to blow out all that carbon, etc. ... Did your friend lose a seal, or is it simply stuck? It can happen...

seal

it got nice and stuck from lack of lubrication and carbon build up....were gonna pour some deisel fuel in the cylinders ...wait a day or 2 and crack it loose....

Amsoil Power Foam

will clean out absolutely everything...if you can get it to run at all, first... also heard great things about Techron in a bottle... Best of luck!
