mazda parts bulletin

A parts bulletin has come across my desk at work, mazda will be archiving all part numbers with slow or no movement.
This applies to all models, not just the REPU. If there are any parts you have been holding off on buying for any of your older mazdas I would suggest that you try to purchase them as soon as possible.

What do they mean, 'archiving'?

Is this mazda corporate speak for crushing?

archiving

Archived parts are removed from the warehouses and from mazdas parts database and will no longer be available thru the mazda dealer network. I don`t know if the parts will be crushed, I have heard reports of people buying obsolete/archived parts by the lot from mazda, but I don`t have the inside connection for any more information.

...oughta be the 'inside connection' for those REPU parts! We need to buy the lot. Can you work on that connection?

i bet us REPUheads

wouldn't mind gathering together and buying many of the slow or non-moving REPU parts. Sounds like now's the time to get parts while the gettin's good.

Would, say a Controller or VP of MAZDA corporate parts department be willing to listen to us? someone has to be in charge of the archiving . . . . .

Better yet,...

...I'd like the opportunity to put together a deal on the entire 'oldschool' inventory remaining... provided there's still enough there of interest... If it's a possibility on Mazda's end, it possibly could be made to work on 'our' end... Thru how recent are they seriously deleting/relegating to the 'outsource' aftermarket? This could be a great biz. opportunity for us...

I`ll check

Though I no longer have any corporate connections, I do have
limited factory resources that I will call and inquire about the possibility of purchasing obsolete stock.

Any updates?

Might those 'archive-ready' parts include 'obsolete' earlier (than ? year) engines/rebuild gaskets/seals/parts??? Getting the lowdown on transmission part availability would be equally interesting... as, for example, I hear components for the ribcase trannies are getting 'hard to find'...if not impossible yet...

Has Mazda now Archived old rotary parts?

Are Mazda Factory parts now gone or do we still have time to buy?
