REPU in junkyard

ok boys and girls. especially BRADP from SOCAL Area. I cant access the other forum (RX-7forum.com) to PM you.

Complete REPU yellow no engine/tranny/seats; otherwise complete. minor rust only. Located in Sun Valley CA (10min from downtown LA). Name of junkyard is U-Pick U-Pull off the 5 Frwy and Tuxford.

In addition, I got lucky...Got complete axles and rear end off a 74 RX-3 station wagon. Original engine is still there. Nice 12-A manifold for 12-A lovers. This one has better flow than any of the RX-7 edition.

Have fun. and BRADP, call me. you have my #.

you went to pick up parts instead. Well, in my case, I was just looking for interior lights for my 2nd gen. Then I found the REPU and RX-3 station wagon. Although I didnt have the right tools (thanks to good old vice grip)and not properly dressed for it, I got my parts. try to beat me next saturday. lol

Better play hookey tomorrow...

Get the whole REPU out complete if you can! Also, '74 was THE year for flow, beyond that intake manifold... get the whole core! Might even still run, ya never know...

I was in El Centro, CA a few days ago looking for intake and carb for my 77 repu. I saw a 74 rx-4. White, body in great shape, interior is ok but disassembled. Everything was on the car except intake and carb. It even has the original engine. Looks like factory wheels are on it with no tires, (no rotor wheel caps). I hate seeing a good car go to the crusher. Sparky

GO GET IT!!! '74 rx-4's Rock! Too cool!

The perfect companion vehicle to your REPU! The 'other' original 'powered-by-a-4-port 13B' is as much a classic as our trucks... Please, someone rescue it! You'll be glad you did. Remember me when you're running circles around rx-7's with it.

I will try to go friday afternoon.. and at least check it out.. and maybe get parts off and hide them so that if anyone else want them I can just let you know where they are.. instead of having them pull out the truck and crushing it..

Klause: I could not resists.

Body parts, drivetrain (tranny/rearend/driveshaft), suspension parts are still available. Front bumpers are slightly damaged but repairable; dent on the driver side of the bed. hard to find battery cover is still there.

I picked up the instrument cluster including the gauges, middle section with asthray and temp control, and the turn signal/lights controls in the steering column. I forget to get the steering wheel.

Any offers? I need the funds to buy or trade for a 4.88 gears.

I'm not in a position to buy...

However, if you have checked out this forum and/or ebaymotors at all, you'll have noticed just how rare/needed just about ALL REPU parts really are. Trouble is, it depends on who needs what when, and who has any money to spend, and when...
I recommend you get ahold of wankelguy (Mike) about any of that rx-4... but best would be to get 'em both outta there complete!!! Just do it! Except for the truly trashed aspects, these parts will not depreciate anytime soon, guaranteed. Better yet, how (relativley) few parts would either need to be built? It's worth every penny!
Just do it!!!

Draggin1600,
The junkyard is located on highway 111 north of interstate 8. The exit is Evan hughes road. Junkyard is on northeest corner. If had time and space I would have towed it home. My first rotary car was a rx-4. Took it for a drive and hit 130 mph with a 4 speed. I've been hooked ever since.
Good luck with the car, Sparky.

Somebody should snag that ribcase...

Aren't 81-85 trannies better? Better syncho rings?

Is the old pre79 ribcase tranny stronger than 81-85?
