Bought a '75!

Well I finally did it. I bought my first REPU. I've owned dozens of RX7s to date and I've finally found a truck that was perfect for me.

The truck is faded/rusted red but almost 100% complete. I am pulling the motor and stripping out the interior this week. Truck is going to the paint shop in a few days for a semi-restoration.

My FB race car is Phoenix Blue and I was thinking to paint the truck the same. Any other color ideas that would look great? Does anyone have some pictures of other trucks with new paint to share?

Is there anything I should address underneath the car in particular? Should the I look at spaying the underside with anything?

Thanks!

Any help would be appreciated!

Massi

Thanks! I'm excited to get her on the road.

I don't think I need a bed at the moment but that can change when I hear back from the body shop.

Do you have any mirror recommendations? I have the stock mirrors but thought I'd update to a smaller mirror.

Thanks! I've definitely been keeping an eye on your build. I even downloaded your rendering of the blue REPU a couple weeks back! LOL

What are you doing to the undercarriage of your truck? Any sort of spray treatment or service?

I'm trying to decide on color and mirrors at the moment.

Paint starts Monday... I've decided to be extra original and paint 'er Phoenix Blue! LOL

I'm having the interior shot the same color too. I don't think I'll reinstall a headliner or a/b pillar vinyl.

Any recommendations for the floor? Should I reinstall the carpet or have it Rhinolined like the bed?

great color choice, but I am prejudiced.

I noticed a big improvement when I sprayed the top with rubberized undercoat sound deadner before I replaced my headliner, just a thought, cuts out a lot of noises to hear the intake and exhaust better.

Hmm.... I was thinking to leave the top unlined and just painted. I guess it depends on what it looks like without the headliner and after it's cleaned up.

If I do replace the headliner, I'd like to follow your lead as well. What is the stuff you used called?

Thanks!
