I was at my local Mazda dealer talking shop with the parts guy today and he said Mazda going to make the REPU again. It will be a 3 rotor using many surplus RENESIS parts since Rx8 sales were lower than expected and they still have the tooling. It'll have direct injection and the oil metering pump will finally feed from an external resivoir of 2-stroke oil. That will increase mileage and reduce emissions, two shortfalls of the Rx8
The marketing guy showed me an artist's rendering and the fenders were box flared!!! The also put the battery in front of the RR tire, the hood opens backwards, and there's a horizontal slat grille.
They didn't have a price available but said it'll be less $$ than a Toyota Tundra V8. Can't wait!1
