stereo head unit
i need a new one for my truck but dont want to cut up the dash anywhere i can get one with knobs like the old school ones? options?

crutchfield might beable to help. or google vintage car audio, you will find tons of sites with shaft style radios. I have a old bluapunk(sp?) shaft style in mine and had to butcher the faceplate so it would fit in the stock area. but atleast i didnt cut into the dash, hell i dont think a din size would fit anyways.

the repu requires a somewhat unusually shallow shaft style chassis. unfortunately, most DIN size units are too deep to fit, especially CD. I believe there are some shops popping up that will retrofit your original radio, or an older radio, with upgraded/updated parts and add aux-in if you would like to hook your ipod/mp3 player up to it as well.
