Aftermarket steering wheel help please!!

Looking for a quick release hub kit. I do know of the grant 3hole kit,but will it work with a more modern quick release like nrg for example. I'm interested in a shutt steering wheel that matches my shift and shift boot, which works with the new 6 hole kits,,,,any advice would be appreciated...OH, im not looking to sell my wheel guys,,,,,dyno tuning in a week,,,,just finishing heat shielding and stuff,,,and had to go bigger on the exhaust bell on the turbo, was getting bad boost creep, gauges added too...

Tuning and steering wheel

I have heard of grantproducts.com Not a recomendation but a place to check.I'm guessing we are talking the same place.

P.S. Keep a giant fan on your baby while on the Dyno.
Are you tuning for premium gas?

I still need help with an adapter for newer style steering wheels, I know of the grant 3 hole wheels, but that's not what I want. Please any more suggestions?

I think the adapter on my truck also will fit first gens as well. If what you are looking for will fit a first gen then it should work. Good luck.

i used to have a kit on my old MAZDA B2600i.. the grant one.. i think the wheel is five hole.. i think it would be good to email NRG about their adapter to see if it is compatible with the grant one. I have been considering doin exactly that same thing ever since my buddy put the nrg quick release on his integra a year ago.. not yet ready for it though.. from what i recall about those hubs, as long as you can get the adapter for a wheel on the column, the hub bolts onto that.

So the one you mention, the three hole one, bolts onto a spacer.. on the face of that spacer is where you bolt the wheel on.. the nrg hub would bolt onto this spacer instead and then the wheel to the nrg hub.. if it seems like it might be to far out nrg has a shallow quick release too. from the looks of their site it the quick releases come drilled for more than one type of wheel..

I personally did not really want the quick release for anything flashy.. i want it for the wheel lock they have for those hubs.. good luck.. if i find out anything i will post the info here.

here are some links..

http://www.nrginnovations.com/products/index.php#block1
for the nrg hubs..

http://www.grantproducts.com/p-309-3597.aspx
for the old mazda hub i had..According to the search feature on the grant site it is also the same for the repu. so kit 3597. there is also a momo adapter 5702 that is supposed to be for the mazda trucks.

http://www.grantproducts.com/c-226-installation-accessories.aspx
this shows they have their own momo adapter.. and the extension like the ones that come with the wheels.. seems you can get shallow ones.. i think after doing this deeper research that it is definitely doable.. the first step would be to buy the hub to fit the repu column and go from there.

dont forget to use thread locker.. lol.. i hated the wheel gettin loose due to vibration.. but i did have a teeth chattering system back then..

Thanks soo much, i did find an adapter for the 3hole grant to a momo 6 hole.I'll buy the thin nrg quick release hub, cause the 3 hole to 5 adapter is 1 1/2 " and the thin nrg is also. So its three inches, closer to you in all. Should be ok cause the wheel will be smaller. Alot better then the old wheel touching my legs hehe, Thanks Again!!! So close to getting to that dyno, hopefully this

No prob.. keep in mind gran also sells some short spacers.. even though they are five hole the nrg adapter should be universal. either way you can modify it later but at least the most expensive stuff will be done. hopefully soon i will have the time to go hang out with some of you guys when there is a meet.. Good luck with the dyno.
