Is Juan and VRD gone for good?

I'm sure this is all very old news, but I've been out of the loop for awhile- is Juan officially done doing VRD? Obviously, the site is down, and he never answered emails or phone messages a few months back. I just tried calling him on his cell, and someone answered, and I could hear them breathing, but they wouldn't say anything (maybe it was a bad connection and they couldn't hear me). Anyone know what happened to him? Anyone have any of his graphics not installed yet? I have had a guy for quite awhile that can copy them for us- I even put Juan in touch with him, as my guy was ALOT cheaper than Juan's supplier (and had lower minimum buys), but no luck. I need the stripe kit and tailgate graphics now along with anything else for the truck anyone has. If you have some decals you can loan me, I promise to return them in the same condition, plus can hook you up with some free ones once I get them copied. HELP!!

Neal.

I've got a new set of Juans tailgate lettering around here somewhere. I ordered them nearly two years ago, misplaced them so darn thouroughly I had to re-order!

If I run across them, they're yours for cheap. Also, check with Brad C (Absolut). His work is also SUPERB..if he's still into it.

Sounds great..

Thanks Mike. I have my fingers crossed you can find them. I'll try getting ahold of Brad in the meantime. If I get yours (please keep looking), I'll make darn sure to have my guy enter it in his computer first, so we'll have access to them whenever.

Wish I had a set to donate/loan!

Suggest you not only have your guy enter it into his computer, but get several copies burned to disc, for archival purposes.
Definitely interested in a set or three, if and when the timing/price is right...

I talked to Juan last year at 7stock. He was still in business then and actually had a new repu kit available. The new kit has cut outs for the door handle and locks. If he is out of business its probably because so many people whined about his prices. I have his kit on my repu and it was worth every penny. Where else can you get one? Thats what makes it worth the price.

Well, I bought a set from Brad Cole like Mike suggested. I had him tweak the side stripe kit a bit so it is more accurate to the original with the upper and lower pin stripe, and closed the gap between the main stripes a bit. I think his tailgate stuff is pretty much dead on.

I'm holding off on the lower rocker stripes until I can get the proper lettering so he can duplicate it.

Can't wait to get it all- and his prices are beyond fair (less than half of what Juan was charging, I think). I think most everyone thought Juan was actually doing his stuff himself, but he wasn't. He would have a supplier (a guy like Brad) scan in originals and then make them up for him, and Juan had minimums he had to buy each time, for each decal, so he was paying a high price from the get-go, then he had to mark it up to make it worth his time, and so on. Brad is sitting in the driver's seat. He makes the stuff and all. Wish Juan was still around, cause he had some stuff I wanted, and stuff Brad doesn't have yet, but gotta go where the stuff is available... anyone who needs the tailgate stuff, side stripes or rocker stripes that has trouble getting ahold of Juan like I have, get in touch with Brad.

What about...

'Analog correctness' -- at the extremely-up-close 'inspection' level, in this digital age...? Not that it matters *too* much, I suppose -- except maybe for the serious seeker of period-correct perfection -- but I'd still rather not be able to find any tiny little 'digital stairsteps' or similar on any printed edge...

I see no edges like that on my tailgate stickers. They look perfectly smooth and round, I just checked.

Hi guys, I will be looking around to see if anyone is interested in using me for their decals...
Over here in Australia we have heard that juan has closed up and you guys are having trouble finding someone to do your decals.

Only here to help.

I am a oldskool Rotary owner/lover.

So understand what 'the right way' is.
