Back on the road...
...finally got my repu together yesterday. I installed an lsd kit with a 3.90 diff. to go with 77' tranny that it came with. Also put on some braided brake lines front and rear. Pedal is alot stiffer and I really like it with the 3.90. Hit 55mph in 2nd gear. Feels good to be driving it again!

That's some tall
...highway gears...(!) What RPM's are you turning at cruising speed in 4th and 5th?

Took it on a short freeway run. Never got it out of third gear. Gonna put some miles on it this weekend a recheck the axle endplay. Thanks for your help Scott.

Glad it all worked out Max
Be sure to change the diff oil after 100miles at the most. If it's too metallic, keep flushing and changing every 50 miles until clear. I used this cheap stuff called MAG ONE of something like that from Kragen.

Hey Max..... Sounds like you did some fancy stuff with my old 3.90 gear set. Contrats on getting it all together. Would you happen to have a speedo gear for the 4.62?

another set of ring and pinion, used diff, redone tolerances, new bearings? etc...
will all give off some metal particles while they get acquainted with each other.

When they're done breaking in...
...fill it up with Amsoil synthetic Gear Lube, and forget it!

Brad, Ya that makes sense. I'll change it after a hundred or so.
Hey Rob, You looking to do another trade? Is there a difference in the speedo to accomodate the axle ratio's?
Klaus, I'm an amsoil man. I run it in all my bikes. Great stuff.

Perhaps then you'll understand...:
I recently became the proud new owner of an '01 Kawasaki ZRX1200R... <BIG GRIN> (About to do an Amsoil oilchange in it, too!)
I know, I know: I *could've* damn near finished a REPU, but...
...it's summertime, and 45-50 MPG + Performance & really good looks all drew me in!
(Oh yeah: Gotta make room for REPU #5, too...) ;)
