Question about Brad's coilover kit

Hello Brad,

I am interested in the coilover kit, and was wondering if you had pictures of the installation. Also how much of a drop have you gone? It looks like at best 2" maybe 21/2" is all the truck could be lowered and not smack the bump stops (even trimmed) when driving hard. Please let me know.

Thank you,

Paul

Hi Paul,

I took some low resolution cell phone camera shots of it, I think the girl friend may still have it on her phone. I'll be happy to sell a kit and am proud of it but FYI I'm not actively marketing the kit and haven't done an official release of it yet. WAY too much going on outside of REPUville. My truck is lowered the minimum amount allowed by the coilovers: approx 1.25". I didn't use a measuring tape, that's a good guesstimate. It certainly did ride on the bump stops, I've had to trim them down quite a bit. It is as low as I want it, since my tires stick out past the fender flares, I can't go any lower.

With more wheel backspace, the coilovers will let you lower the truck another 3.75"!!!! Of course going that low radically changes the front end geometry, but may be okay for street cruising. If you're autocrossing the truck, and need it to handle at that low a suspension drop, the only way to fix *that* is different length A-arms which gets into a pricey proposition not to mention bumping into a much higher class.

REPU only has 2" of suspension travel in the front before hitting bump stops. I've looked at some generic bump stops and have some I wanna try but so busy with other stuff........Hope this helps!

Hi Paul, my reply is above. I think you have the green turbo REPU with the ADDCO rear sway bar? I talked to u @ last sevenstock.

Hi Brad,

Sorry for the delay. Yes I am the one with the green turbo truck you saw at S.S. with the rear Addco swaybar. I would like to see your coilover kit. The adjustability would be a nice alternative. There are quite a few things I am trying to plan for the winter. First on the list is larger front brakes and some modified dropped spindle with neg. camber built in, then an independant rear suspension, and a new paint job! I am glad you are also trying to increase the handling capability of these trucks. We should go to an autocross together.
