I have been lurking here for ages, but so far have not seen anyone discuss putting an RX-8 motor with a 6 speed into a repu. I still have my 75 that I'm itching to restore and get back on the road, and I really would like to do that conversion. Does anyone have any thoughts or suggestions on this subject?
...especially since I'm a fan of decreased emissions in conjunction with increased output (sans turbo), as well as reliability. Only thing standing in the way: Plenty of time and money!
Now, I have heard that the 6-speed is no where near as strong as the previous seven's five...
Then there's a question of tailoring other aspects for reasonable performance in the new context...
I like what Brad's been up to regarding chassis mods/development!
