Not a lot of talk on mazdarepu.com

We used to get a lot more traffic. Where did everybody go to? Or are all of our trucks now restored and running @ 100%?

Ha, I only wish..........

I was "done" with my trucks. I got two in work and three in the pipe. I am busy as shit, work on the trucks three to four days a week at least, and have little time to chat. I watch the board, but only weigh in when I can provide meaningful answer in short time. I've got lots of issues to request help on, but I kind of save them until I get to the issue because I want my dialogue to be timely with my progress.

I am trying desparately to get the cab loaded on the 77 within the next few weeks and things should go a lot faster then. I've been bogged down the last few months with detail parts, but things are opening up now, and will really fly when I can start loading them on the chassis. It is oh so monotonous to strip, treat, prime and paint hundreds of detail parts. With each process taking a 24 - 48 hour cure cycle, tasks trickle into weeks. My shops are littered with parts and I will be so happy to get these parts on trucks.

I think people are just a little busy right now to chat. We here all seem to want to talk substance, and since we have talked so much about everything, I think our knowledge is to the point we can go great lengths without needing questions answered. I know I have more answers right now for stuff that I haven't even got to on the truck.

I am about to cut springs, drop leafs, obtain wheels, paint the truck, etc., and I'll probably need lots more help soon. Winter always brings more indoors activity, and I think many of us will have more time to chat as the seasons change.

Always around, but not always vocal......

Super busy...

(Unfortunately, not with the REPU's...)

The reality of my business being feast or famine, now I've got a pile of work to get caught up on.

Too much didn't happen this year! Oh well, at least we got a woodstove in the house... not gonna freeze again THIS winter!

wood stove????

got the wood stove installed in the house this year??? y'all up in them back woods klaus? no, just messin with ya. should'nt the stove be installed in the garage for all year repu restoration. my thinking on that is anyone in the house that doesn't like the cold can come out to the garage and help. my house has a wall heater and window a/c, the garage has forced air heating and a/c, along with a satalite dish. my wife just shook her head and walked away when i was installing the system. i spend alota time in the garage/shop.

I'm with Ken and Klaus....

Over here, much of the same as Ken and Klaus. I'm SUPER busy with work, so much so, that often find myself drifting off mentally to take a break because it gets overwhelming. I haven't done crap this year car wise. All I got done was stripping three RX-7s, and rebuilt a carb for a guy's '83 Limited Edition. It makes me sick. My "shop" is cluttered with tools, front crossmembers from FCs, a REPU cab (or what's left) that I got from Charles, Mazda SSTs (buckets of 'em to sort through), engine cores, etc., etc. I didn't even have time this year to clean the darn shop up! And it's already cold here! I don't think it even hit 50 degrees all weekend. We're just getting alot of rain and crappy weather. My summer was over before it started. I am planning on finishing the shop's interior off this Spring, but now that may have to wait until I get caught up on the stuff I didn't get done this year, like rebuild the engine and braking system in the '74 REPU! Ugh! Why can't we all just win the lottery and get to play all day?

Aaargh..., etc.:

I hear ya! FYI, my 'garage' would 'barely' be big enough to fit one REPU in --IF it contained NOTHING else...-- hence, no garaged REPU, and no heat in the 'garage'. It's the crappiest structure on the property--(but, at least I fixed the roof on it first year here.) It's basically parts/crap storage... not even a 'real' garage door... (Got a carport, but that's only good for one REPU...)

I DREAM of a 'real' garage/shop! Nice and well-lit, big enough for two trucks + workspace + storage... nice and warm and dry... not too hot in summer... (you know!)

If I had all that, I would've gone deeper into debt to be 'the one' to get Max's (Craig's) red resto repu !

Anyone with deep pockets wanna 'sponsor' "Santa Klaus's" efforts around here for X-mas?
(Will 'trade' project '74 REPU(s) for 'sponsorship'!!!)

PS--Neal, I've still got that 'spare' '74 bed for you that you put your hard-earned money on last March... and I would still put the dry space it's in to better use... But, I hear ya on us both being in the place we're in...
Whaddaya think is realistic for it's future? Just checking...
