Restoration & Conversion

I have a 1974 REPU.
Previous owners butchered it by putting in a 1971 toyota 3kc from a corrola, cut notches in the bell housing, cut out the oricinal mounts, welded new motor mounts, etc.
The engine sits as a slant 4, the transmission is a 5 spd
(not stock??) with a slight slant; am guessing that is mazda tranny as bell housing is similar to RX-7. Bed has dings and rust coloring
on points of dings (Srap Metal Hauler ?!!?!)
Hood has ding where carburetor air cleaner bolt banged hood
cracked right headlamp door; good grill and left headlamp door. Looking to Re-Rotary and fix. Anyone have pictures of original mounts, requirements for mounts on 12A Conversion, bell Housing, advice, etc.

Am considering building MotorHome on chasis
(Toyota P.U. Style) or flat bed with 12A conversion as will not be capable of being stock again. :(

There is also a REPU x-tow-truck with a ford V-8 here locally in S. ID if anyone is interested.

1985 RX-7
1984 Jeep Cherokee
1989 Geo Metro
Misc Extra

Also-Any Idea what would be involved in Converting a 4wd std
1985 Jeep Cherokee to 12A? Looks like Mounts, Bell Housing,
and Oil Pan + wiring or advice ??

Welcome, Troy!

Now, just for starters...: I realize you have all those 12A motors in your sevens, but you really will thank us later if you start by focussing on returning your REPU project to 13B (or 'better'!) power.
Could even be more cost-effective, depending on which route you go...
Check some of the guys pics for inspiration; sounds like you've got work ahead of you...
Check out the pics at 'my' MSN group as well --and post some of your own, if you've got access to a digicam!
A REPU tow-truck sounds way cool... (nevermind the V-8!)

more news

Did a compression check on that 3KC engine;
cylinders #2 & #3 have 20# & 70#. #1 & #4 have 125#.
All have oil. I Figure engine needs work-pulled 10/02/04.
Good News- The original mounts were welded to the frame, so
I have a template for Re-Rotarying the truck. Took some pics, but poor lighting ruined most of them.

Anybody there? Just some more news-Finished engine swap,
Replaced Coil mount bracket with 74 RX-4 Donor, Engine from
RX-4 (12A Conversion with spacers & Points). No Battery Tray in Bed, though. Test Drove 200 ft. moving truck and battery grouded to chassis. Burned entire back half of wire terminal off. Original Engine Harness doctored by previous owners-only have Battery-Alternator, Coolant Temp, Oil Light, Alternator-Signal, and starter signal.

Anybody got any rotary to run bare block w/o vaccum "tree" and carburetor electrical disconnected? Possible to run both vaccum advance by direct vaccum from carburetor spacer?

Anyone have a battery tray with chassis mounts, or detailed pictures that would give me an idea of how to fab a replacement?
