The reason I am not even going to try for a full custom part is the ball-joint on the drivers-side end. I think that would add alot more expense than it is worth to have a pretty piece. If it was just a cross-member with a couple holed of a specific size drilled in the correct locations I would be all over the idea of a custom job.

Here is a list of what I have so far:

FB515 x4 bushing
FA1352 x1 chassisparts
FA1157 x2 balljoint
FA1176 x2 balljoint
SL75 x2 miscchassis
ES2729S x2 tierods/sleeves
MOES2073L x2 TIE ROD ENDS
RP26274 x2 TIE ROD ENDS
ES2414 x1 tierods/sleeves

The FB515 I believe were the lower a-frame bushings.
FA1352 I think is the sway bar bushings
SL75 I dont remember what that bushing is
the rest is all the tie rod and tie rod end parts. ES2414 is the entire center rod that goes all the way from tie rod to tie rod.

Tom, does ES2414 include the tie rod clamps, you know the two clamps that hold the tie rod ends to the tie rod itself?

OOPS....

Let's ignore last question and post this one instead...

Does the adjuster sleeve include the 2 clamps that tie onto each tie rod end?

Thats a hard one, it has been so long ago. I believe the adjuster sleeves did include the clamps. I know I didnt order the clamps separate and something from that parts list included them, I cant imagine what it would have been if it wasnt the sleeves.

clamps came with the adjuster sleeves

Installed with generous amount of anti-seize.

I made my own toe measurement plates using steel angle iron. Each piece is 1.5' long with a hole drilled on either end. Bunjee goes into hole and around back of tire to hold it in place whilst i measure toe. Pretty cool. Toe is set.

AMAZING how big a difference toe makes on steering and handeling. I can make the truck understeer or oversteer with a 1/2" change in toe.

idler arm

Since the topic seems to be in the steering area, My truck started klunking going over small bumps and holes. Find out the two plastic bushings on the idler arm that attach's to the center link on the passenger side are all smashed up. Anybody know where to get some more. If it is a Mazda part what is the part number? Tried to take the parts out of the RX2 idler arm, but they were busted to. Jeff

I have installed the MOOG idler arm, improved design above, a few weeks ago.

It's a REAL nice part. Have it all packed with grease, torqued, and working just fine.

Not a cheap item, but an important one. Add in new tie rods and your repu will steer a lot easier.

bushing replacement

I tried to get the idler arm to center link from Advanced Auto with no success. Went to NAPA - for $22 got it and installed yesterday-fits and works great. Think I'll get a spare kit. THanks guys for the advice. Jeff
