wheel fitment

I will be lowering my truck with Brad's coilovers and 2" rear blocks. Wonder if the following wheel/tire will fit without any issue:

front/rear: matched

Wheel Size: 16x8

Offset: +0

Backspacing: 4.5"

Tire Size: 225/50R16

Thanks,

Massi

WOW, great link! That's going to help me with my FD wheel fitment questions a lot.

But I don't know the stock REPU wheel/tire details. I have seen the tire size but nothing about stock offset and such.

This calculator I find works best (bookmark the link):
http://www.rimsntires.com/specs.jsp

Enter 185/80R14 for the tire 5.5" rim width and 0 offset. This is pretty much the stock wheel and tire size. There could have been positive offset on the original wheel but I don't have one to clarify. I do know that any wider than this will translate to the tire being outside the fender up front.

For example, I have 14x6+0 rims with 195/75R14 tires. They stick out about 1/4" in the front just like this website predicts.

The wheels you have chosen will stick out 1.2". That is pretty significant. You will likely rub the corners of the fenders when you go to turn. Most owners recommend a 7" rim up front with a high positive offset (as much as 40mm). Out back 8" rims are fine since the wheels don't turn and there's more space under the fender too.

After hearing this you're next comment is going to be, how can I find a rim with those specs? The answer is, you can't, at least not in 6x5.5 lug pattern. There are a very small number of rims available that have 6x5.5 lug pattern and positive offset. Most are OEM rims from 80's and 90's trucks and suvs.

This is good info. I was doingsome checking and perhaps the 4 spoke Nissan Frontier or the 6 spoke Toyota new FJ will work they may be only in a 17 inch size but they are 7.5wide and Ithink a plus 40mm. Something I was looking into.

That sounds like it will work. I originally had 16x7+44 GMC Yukon rims on my truck and there was plenty of room to spare up front. They did rub a little at full lock, but not enough to hinder driving.

I looked for a while and the 16" FJ wheels are definitely a low offset.. nothing near +40.
