Wheel & Tire question

I'm looking to buy some wheels and tires for my '75 this week. I could use some opinions regarding fitment and sizing choices.

This is what I'm looking at:

http://www.procompusa.com/productlist.aspx?plid=100347&catid=11&subcat=209&ptid=100021

front

wheel: 15x7
backspacing: 3.75
tire: 205/55

rear:

wheel: 15x8
backspacing: 3.50
tire: 225/50

I'm working from the premise that Brad thinks 15x7 and 205/55 are the ideal sizes. Also that someone else mentioned the rear fender is about 1" more flared than the front.

Please let me know your thoughts! Gotta order something ASAP.

How'd you arrive at those backspacing numbers? I'm thinking you're going to end up with the "skateboard look" and possibly unpredictable handling on uneven surfaces with that backspacing. The wheels on my truck stick out at least an inch, and I hate the way it looks and handles on uneven surfaces.

Oh, what I'd give for the stock wheels!

hmmm... I found a few old threads that discussed what people were using and what they feel would fit better.

It doesn't seem like I can find an offset that won't achieve that skateboard look. But at the same time, as long as the wheels don't protrude too far, I will be ok with it.

I was hoping a few people would chime in that had already figured out the right backspacing to use.
