215/50r13 sumitomo
Hi guys this is my first post to the board as I am in the process of purchasing my first repu!
I already own a '73 datsun 510 with a 13b turbo :)
My question to everyone is why not put 13" wheels on the repu now that there are some great tire options?
Especially given that wheels, even steelies, are really light in the 13" size.
I am planning on putting some diamond racing 13" mini stock wheels 13x7 in front and 13x8 in the rear with the 215/50r13 sumitomos at all 4 corners.
I will have a coilover setup in the front with the stock springs and the bilstein's that Brad recommends. For the rear, I am going to take out the second longest leaf and de-arch them for the desired ride height.
I would really like to hear eveyone's thoughts on the 13" wheels and I apologize about the long post!

also... some of my inspiration for using the 13" wheels is from what the guys are doing in Japan and Australia with the Datsun sunny trucks.

Latest fashion
One of the great things about the REPU is their flexability, and easy to customize the thing like crazy. There are some here that are purists, and the community needs those, but there are some that go nuts customizing these little trucks.
I personally like the Hipari look, and have been pondering that over the large 17's on my truck now.

Does a 13" rim clear the calipers and drums?
13" street tires are generally non-performance oriented like that sumitomo. My roomie has that model tire on her geo metro. 3 cylinders of fury!

I was hoping someone already knew if 13's fit or not:)
It has 14's on it right now with what looks like plenty of clearance.
I guess I will be ordering just one wheel at first to test fit!

Might want to change your gearing while you're at it, or 1st gear'll be truly useless, and you'll be turning more revs than you really want at freeway speeds.

Yeah, 4,000RPM is already high enough.
