Wheel selection assistance/suggestions...

Greetings,

I've been looking online at various wheel combinations and trying to decide what will look the best for my REPU.

I'd like to see what some of you guys recommend.

I'm not into dubs or anything that might be referred to as "bling" however I am not opposed to swapping in a larger diameter wheel.

I prefer more of a road/track wheel than some version of an truck/off-road wheel if possible.

I'd also like to retain the factory 6 bolt conversion for the present time as I have other areas of restoration to work on before I tackle modifications.

Thanks in advance all!
KWH

if you search the forum threads, you'll find a few discussions on wheel fitment and sizing.

there are a bunch of oem type rims from chevy, mitsubishi, isuzu, and couple other makes that will fit the repu.

good luck!

Yeah, I have searched and read up on the tech side of things, what I am looking for is more of a styling perspective. I can find wheels that "fit" by specs, but that doesn't mean they look good.

What I want to know is what looks good on a REPU without sacrificing function for styling. Like I said no bling for off-road wheels for me.

Your choices...

...will be dictated by what you might find 'acceptable' in terms of appearance, from what's available in the usable sizes/needed offset, and in the 6-lug pattern.

I'd suggest 15 or 16" as the largest practical diameter for driveability without interference issues under hard cornering/braking... especially for the front.

205, or even 225/50/15's will generally work on all 4 corners, allowing you to still rotate front-to-rear...

If you're willing to run a mixed set, you can go larger and wider in the rear. At that point, I'd suggest going with specific offsets for each end, as well.

Understood... I'm good with all the technical bits.

My question is what do you guys (REPU enthusiasts) find acceptable in terms of appearance?

I want to hear your preferences and choices. What wheels do you think look "good" on a REPU.

:D

Rims

Can't go wrong with any 15" American Racing Equipment wheel that was sold in or copied from 70's or 80's.

Outlaw II and Ansen Sprint copy I like.

Not bad.. the Outlaw II I haven't seen.

It looks like about a half dozen other wheels I've seen except the 12 hole addition instead of 6 or 8 holes really seems to make a difference in the look of the wheel. Thumbs up.

The Ansen isn't bad, but I'd really like to see those in person. Thanks for the suggestions, now to play with photoshop and see what they look like on the truck. :D
