Grunts and groans
Granted, the truck has sat for 2 1/2 years being restored, but if you push up and down on the front, it doesn't bounce like bad shocks, and seems to ride/handle ok. But, depending upon the severity of the bump, there's some definite complaining coming from the front end. I could have someone bounce the thing while I'm underneath, but is there any specific thing that you guys think might be causing creaking/squeaking? it's more of a low pitch actually..

I recently did some suspension work on my 77. I had some really bad noises coming from the rear suspension. Mostly squeaking. I replaced all the bushings. I used sythetic gease to lube the bushings and the leaf springs. I also replaced pretty much everything on the front suspension. All that's left is the steering box and centerlink. So far, HUGE improvement on handling and suspension noise.
I suspect your noise is from rear bushings and/or lower control arm bushings.
Good luck.

Start by...
...greasing everything greaseable -- that is, unless you're about to dive into replacing/rebuilding.
Then, you might want to carefully inspect, and re-torque/tighten wherever applicable...
The most amazing assortment of worn-out parts can be rendered *temporarily* serviceable, if one is willing to put up with it!
