Finally fixing front suspension.

My front end was really messed up. One of the LCA bushings was pretty much gone, metal on metal. Replaced all LCA bushings, upper and lower ball joints, and tie rod ends. I sandblasted all the control arms and brushed with POR-15. That stuff is awesome. I really liked the finish, semi-gloss black. I even cleaned up and painted the coils and perches. Put on some new shocks, nothing fancy yet. Just purchased all the rear leaf spring bushings from NAPA...Part# 274-6965 for $23.60. I'll probably do the same as Brad. Take out a leaf and install the Gabriel Hi-Jackers. I can't drive the truck yet. Looks like one of my inner bearing races was spinning and grooved out the wheel hub. If anyone has an extra hub, it would be great.

cool

you'll like the ride once 1 leaf is removed. not as bouncy / harsh. the hi jackers are great. fill with air and go. i usually put 25-30psi in there. they really help out when carrying a load too. i put 80psi in them once when moving and it took the load fine.

oh, plumb them up with one air valve per air shock. otherwise if u do one valve for both air shocks, when the truck leans the compressed side will force air into the uncompressed/extended side, increasing it's pressure and jacking the extended side up more.

plus with 2 valves it's less strain on the air valves, more redundancy.

later,
brad

Thanks for responding Brad. BTW, which leaf did you remove?

removed the 2nd longest one.

the thicker the leaf, the higher the spring constant. the longer the leaf, the higher the spring constant.

longest one being the main with eyelets, can't remove that one!
