Anyone know Dan? With the white repu pics November 2002

Anyone know Dan? With the white repu pics November 2002?
Looking to ask him some question on his setup.

I was going to say....

Um, Chad.... meet Mr. Mazella (sorry if I spelled it wrong, Dan). Dan's one of those names you just "know" if you're into rotaries, you know like Koby, Kenichi Yamamoto, Berny, etc.

THanks

Thanks for the info. Sorry for the lack of knowledge as I have only owned a repu now for a few months thanks to jfaplanet (charles). Since his repu is red and the other one will be blue I was gonna do mine white. I saw your truck and it is beautiful even if the TII motor was not there.
My question is what size rims are those and what size tires? Did you use lowering springs at all or is it stock height? What about the suspension?
I want mine to look like it's twin but hopfully I will be using a set of rims I currently have 16x8 Eagle 058's.

Also if possible can you send me some pics I can use to make pictures from to frame and hang on the wall?

Thanks

Sorry, I can't help you out on the info for Dan's truck, but I just had to give you some grief over not knowing Dan. It actually has nothing to do with not knowing who Dan was, more that you're friends with that Charles guy (so you unjustly deserve grief). What a slackass he is! Totally worthless wank if you ask me! Rotary guy? HA!

Hehehe. Just kidding. Charles is a very good friend of mine- in fact I was at his place just a few weeks ago. I almost stole your brown GSL while I was there, by the way. If you find another GSL-SE cheap- you had better let me know (I need a complete rear end, front suspension and wheels now).

Welcome to the "club" (yeah, like I'm the damn moderator or anything...)!

Neal.

Thanks for the kinds words everyone...

As for my suspension setup, in those pics, it is stock. In fact right now, everything suspension wise is still stock. But Brad's coil overs are on order, so in a few weeks, it won't be stock anymore :)

Those rims are 17x8s - I forget the brand, but they are discontinued style anyway, and the tires are 235/45r17's

I'm looking at rear suspension options right now, as I'm going to be replacing the rear axel (maybe) ... still looking for the best, most cost effective and best solution for that rear setup.

Dan- did anyone ever figure out what RX-7 or Miata diffs will fit in the REPU carrier? I've got one of just about every RX-7 diff here up to '89 (LSDs were viscous of course from '89 up to '91, so those are pretty much worthless anyways), and would love to add LSD to my '75 for street use, but don't want to just tear stuff up if someone has figured it out yet??

S4 LSDs should be clutch-pack.

S5 and FD LSDs were viscous.

Could be wrong but I'm pretty sure.

I've got an S4 4.10 LSD waiting to go into my convertible. Got it for free. Only piece of good luck in the last 12 months :)

Well, you're partially correct...

RX-7 LSDs:

81-88 RX-7 Clutch Type

89-91 Viscous; Clutch Type on GTUs (I think- I can't find the special spec/sales sheet on the GTUs right now, but LSD was not standard equip. on the standard GTU (except '88); that was an open diff starting in '89)

93-95 Torsen

Miatas were viscous (to my knowledge) until the 1.8L cars when they could be ordered with a Torsen depending on trim level.

Cool, I thought that the S4 came with clutch packs.

Do you know if the GTU rear end was the 7" or 8" gear?

That LSD I got was out of an NA (which I assume was the GTU). I didn't know if they were dignificantly different from the diffs they used in the TIIs.

Hey Neal!

I'm noticing your signature linup no longer listing a '74 REPU... may I ask, whatever became of that one?

...and Dan, regarding those big wheels: I'm surprised that width fits under un-modded front fenders. What kind of offset are they? Will they still work under 'spirited' cornering, especially after you lower it a bit?

...curious minds want to know!
