Battery Conpartment needed !!!

Hi , there all...

I have been driving around with the battery on my Repuīs bed for a long time and i am tierd to see it bumping around there...
My repuīs battery box is gone , it might have been rusted away for many years ago i think... I would like to buy one in not so rusty condition if there are any left... Battery acid make metal faid away in notime i know...But i am hopeing that there might be one complet box in a garage some where that can be sold to me...

I would even buy the battery cover too and the rubber strap that should hold up the cover when replacement of the battery occur...

Thanks , Lars the swed !!!

i might run to the junkyards

in the next few weeks and see if I'm lucky enough to find a REPU. I'll keep an eye out for that battery box Lars. I just refurbished mine and it turned out great, very happy with that.

I'm short one myself...

I do recall (a few years back) Rob at Pineapple Racing had one or two sitting in his shop... you might want to contact him, as well as the other rotary shops. You could always have a cool custom one fabricated as a rust-free. lighter alternative...

Thanks Brad and Klaus42 !!!

I had hope to find with your help a orginal box...Even if itīs heavyer... Klaus i have heard about that, some firm have done the boxes in lite metal and rustfree metal too...

But i prefer a heavy orginal box , if that shop have a orginal box i might want to contact them , if not Brad find a complet box for me at the junk yards then...

Brad if you find a Repu i want you to contact me , there is more parts i need to find... You guys are my parts hunters over there and i am so Glad if i get help with this...

There is a thing i have to fix before the drivers door fall off the hinges... There is a heavy rust damage to the front frame on the cab there the door hinges is mounted... I have seen that some one have tryed to weld it together but itīs not so good done... And i might get the door in my hands some day... Every time i closing the door i have to hold it up a inch and slam it to get it closed...

Therefor Brad if you find a Repu i need to get the front frame from the cab there the hinges is mounted for the drivers door , cut out in one piece... And when i got it i can cut out my bad one and weld on the other one in place...

Itīs the best way to get it look orginal and to get it strong ...
If there is someone here at the forum that have parts trucks at home... And want to help me with this door problem just mail me and i send a photo how to cut out the piece...

I have found out that the cab from the B1800 is almost the same as the Repuīs , we have had lots of B1800 here in sweden , but we also have a climate that make our cars to be rust buckets , and the old mazda cars did fade away in no time because the bad rust protection they had...

Take care all !!!

Battery box not yet found ....

I know that it could take time to find a good looking battery box... If some one have a good box he might want it as a spare part to his own truck... So if there is someone knowing about a Repu located at a wreking yard that might have a disent battery box , Please contact me...

I never see REPU's in wrecking yards...

I do see them, occasionally, sitting elsewhere, though. Trouble is, what is and isn't for sale, and at what price--nevermind if it's just sitting, rusting away... and unfortunately, the battery boxes tend to be some of the first things to rust away...

I had a deal klaus on a battery box , But as usual the guy i mailed with stoped to reply my mails... I donīt know whatīs the madder with somebody... I do not like it... There is a way to get attention and that is to mail bombing them with comercial mails then they might take a second thought about it... I wonder if you have same experiance with this ???

Take care...

I hate spam!

...and I certainly wouldn't recommend 'mail bombing' anyone. Don't think it would help get any parts shipped... I have no experience with doing so, and I'm not going there. Sorry to hear you're learning how flaky some humans can be! The 'net is a strange place sometimes... hard to know who to trust! Yet, we have some excellent friends here, do we not?

junkyard REPU's

They used to show up at the boneyard every now and again in the early 1990's when I went there a lot. Wish i knew i would buy one in 2002 and wouldhave picked their parts.

I will be junkyarding before Turkey Day and will keep an eye out for a battery box for you Lasse.
