WTB:: Rear Bumper

I think the rear bumper is the last "big" peice I need in order to make the truck's exterior complete. (then off to the body shop, and paint!)

I'm looking for one like this:

Does anyone know if the bumper from a b1600 will fit?

Thanks!

I heard that the frame of an REPU is wider than a B1600. The bumper bolts to the frame. In other words, I have no idea.

bumpers

I have not heard that the frames are wider, although the front end track width is wider than the rear track width. I can vouch for the fact the 74 and 77 REPU rear bumper mounts are drilled differently and in order to add a 74 bumper to my 77 I had to do a little re-drilling of the holes and cut a little off the bumper mount ends of the 74 bumper to make it fit. Just do some measuring of what you need to make the distance between the framerails and head to the junkyard. I'd try to stay in the Mazda/Ford Courier when making you selection.

Someone tried to email me...

Someone emailed be via the email button down below, but the system couldn't get your return email address because of a bug in the software.

I think I fixed the bug, so try emailing me again

Thanks

Bump

Still looking for a rear bumper. Haven't had a chance to go to the junk yard to see if anything there would fit.

If you have an extra bumper, please let me know. I don't really care the condition... if need be, I'll get it cleaned up and re-chromed.

Bumper match

I checked the Hollander Interchange book-The 74-77 REPU bumper is a direct match to the 74-76 B1600. The Hollander number is 51247.

REPUJeff, What does your book say about the drag link for the 77 REPU?

Interesting to note that every REPU I've seen/have has a different bumper... my understanding was that it was a dealer add-on, therefore the variation... not that most are hugely different, but... only ever seen one that looks remotely like those famous early Mazda ads... Certainly a part that's too damn heavy to make it worth shipping very far! That is, unless it's a flawless one identical to those ads...

repu bumper

After looking at the bumper on your pictures Dan, my repu has the same one. I looked again in the Hollander book and found the Mazda part number-which is the same one in the collision body repair estimate guide that I got from Klaus. The Mazda part number is 182378620B and a picture is also listed--the same bumper you are looking for.

Thanks! Now that the truck will be back on the road, I'm in real need of the bumper... I'm going to check the bone yards around here for the part...

Rear bumper revisited

So, to put a 74 bumper on a 77 you had to re-drill some holes... do you think a 77 bumper would fit on a 74 with drilling? If so, I think I found a source...

This will fit 77's.. but 74 is my question...
