Up here in the Pacific Northwest, I live a stones throw from Hayes and Atkins. Both do an exceptional job with Rotaries. Although for "good prices" is subject to your own interpretation. They both price according to what you choose to have done.
I personally find it enjoyable to do my own. I consider it a form of "recreation" and "education"....or as the professional world calls "lifelong learning".
brandon you didn't say where in california you're looking for a engine rebuild, but here in southern california, Japanese Car Clinic in Harbor City did a great job rebuilding my 81 Rx7 at a very good price. Remember with engines, you get what you pay for!
ph # is 800 4YOURRX
Steve the owner started out as a rotary & Rx7 specialist back in the day then branched out into anything Japanese since rotaries are rare these days. . . .
