no 5 speed but find a 79-80 rx7 trans dont have to cut the tunnel , or an rx8 trans and pinapple racing has te conversion parts ,a little pricy though

trans parts

Very recently found out that a B2200 86 to whenever the body changed again rear tail shaft housing and shift linkage will fit a FC or FB RX7 trans as long as its not series 5 89-91 RX7 trans. Then you don't have to cut the shift tunnel. 5 speeds galore.

Hope this helps someone.

rear options

Another note, B2000 rear ends up to 1984 used the same center chunk, giving you more options on gears, while being a little higher, but for highway crusing, its not a problem.

That info. deserves its own thread in the Engine/Drivetrain section, IMHO.

so to make the S4 tranny work the only other change would be to use a S4 starter too?

starter

Any 1st gen, or second gen starter will work as long as its not a t2. 2nd gen starters are gear driven and just sound different. 1st gen starters have a threaded hole at the top, where 2nd gen starters need a longer bolt and nut to hold them on. Hope this helps.
