WTB: Tail light lens and surround
Hi guys,
I'm trying to source a tail light lens for my 1974 REPU as one was broken during shipping.
I'm entered in a car show on the 27th of Feb and I want the little beastie looking her best!
Let me know if any one has a spare.
Cheers,
Ross

The lenses you can get new at atkinsrotary.com, the surrounds that is a whole nother animal, they are very hard to find, let alone find them in good shape.

Thanks
Thanks Allen!
Much appreciated. I'll get onto those guys straight away and see if I can get a couple as spares.
As for the surround, I might have to look at getting something made if they are that hard to find.
If anyone has any spares though, I only need one!
Thanks again,
Ross.

Parts arrived
Just checking back in to thank everyone again.
I got in touch with Atkins Rotary, he listed the lenses on eBay and now my REPU has a nice shiny set of tail lights :)
Now, surrounds... might be a 'too hard basket' item for now.
Cheers,
Ross.

Yeah I'd really like some taillight trim rings. I think we've gotten to the point where good shape used ones are hard to come by or not for sale.
I think they're stamped steel, we'd have to do a large run to get them made at a decent price. Since they'd be sold typically in packs of 4 that would help. A thicker material is advisable since the ears get twisted off when tightening.
The chroming cost would really add up on a large batch but it's all do-able.
In my line of work I come across a few metal working companies and I'll ask them if they'd do it but finding a company to do a run - small by industrial standards - of stamped stuff that detailed at a good price is hard to come by.
But I still ask.

Brad,
First of all, I'd read a lot about you on this forum. You have great knowledge and expertise regarding to Repu's. Secondly, I do thank you from all of us that needs these trim rings for our beloved Repu.
When you do sourced a manufacturer....I will be the first one on that group buy list! I totally understand the cost involved but it's well worth it!
Thanks again for your kind effort in this matter!!!

Brad,
Any luck with those trim rings for our tail lights? Also, heard that you have some coil over kit...any available?
Thanks...

I was cleaning out the garage and guess what I find? 2 tail light trim rings, used, but fine shape.
Anyone need these? I guess make me an offer...

Haven't found a vendor that can do it at a reasonable price. Had a client that did waterjet metal parts custom, but our rings are not flat they have a curve to them. Which means stamped. One of these days I may look into it again, I think if we order like 100 parts it may be a price some could live with, 1000 would be better but how we gonna pool that $$ together? And then the chroming...
