Rebuilt steering box or rebuild service

I'm beginning to drive my supercharged REPU around and find that I'd benefit from a tighter steering box.

'Anyone have a rebuilt unit available or recommend a shop that rebuilds them?

http://lee-powersteering.com/ rebuilt mine. less play and slop in the box. while the box is out it's a good time to replace the tie rods, idler arm, and center link too since they all have ball joints involved in steering.

Is your REPU the propane powered SC one that was on ebay ~ year ago? I rem it was out in Arizona or I may have had to buy it!

steering box

Thanks for the link!

Yep, I had it on eBay a while back. No one wanted to purchase it, so now I'm getting it back on the road to have fun. It is drivable, but the slop in the steering needs to be improved (got sloppy while parked). It already has all-new tie rod ends and brakes, new clutch and newer tranny. The steering slop is the only issue.

I've been ripping it around the neighborhood to keep everything lubed up in the motor, etc. Man, it's fun to drive!

The steering box is next, then new tires. They look great, but I don't want to rely on aged rubber.

I would love to see some more pictures of your truck and any info you have on the parts used for the propane conversion. Yet another project for the day when money and time are unlimited!
