draglink for 1977 repu

hi everyone,
My name is Troy and I am looking for the draglink to a 1977 mazda repu. Unfortunatly it is unavailable and can only be found on used repu's. It is not interchangeable with any other year repu. If you have any information on where I can find one or if you own one that I could buy, I would really appreciate a reply.

I'd really like to know the difference. Could it possibly be the Sundowner/Bseries link for that year? Or maybe a link from another earlier B-series?
I have never seen any published info showing the 77 measurements and differences.

B2000

I will have the cab off of the B2000 sometime next week and I will check the see what the differences are in the drag link between the 74 and the 84, and let you know. I do know that the 84 lower, upper A arms, tie rods, drag link, steering box, pitman arm, and idler arm will bolt to the 74 frame. I know because thats what I am using with the 74/84 frame that I had fabricated.

REPUGURU, have you gotten any US mail from me lately. I sent something to you on Monday. I plan to put the cab on the hybrid frame and make a flat bed out of it since it was originally a long bed. I will let you know how it works out.

draglink

Jeff, I don't know what a draglink is! Perhaps you can enlighten me. I am sure its in the "book", but not under that name.

...a wild guess while still half asleep...:

Isn't a 'drag link' a.k.a. an 'idler arm', serving the same function as the Pitman arm on it's relative side of the truck, though unconnected (directly) to the steering box?

I think the part in question is the center link.

DRAGLINK

In regards to Klaus42 and Repuguru's suggestions, further review of the Hollander book doesn't list the draglink outright. I think it probably is put into a general catagory either steering or front suspension. These areas share some of the same parts as the following Mazda piston pickups B-1600, B-1800, B-2000, and the B-2200. Klaus check out the Guide to Estimating for the REPU that you sent me a while back-page F102 lists the drag link with a picture. Hope this helps.

A drag link is more commonly (and correctly) called a centerlink. A drag link actually connects the steering box at the pittman arm to the right side spindle, with another link from it to the left side spindle. A center link connects the pittman arm to the idler arm, then to the tie rods.
