Myth

Many people think driving a truck with its tailgate down will drive faster and get better gas mileage... This is completely NOT TRUE it actually causes down force on the tailgate as you drive EX the air flowing over your truck is cot in the bed and swirls and kinda pushes the truck when its down the air flows over the cab and flows down to the tailgate where it usaly starts swirling instead pushes down and out causing drag so drive with it up! That is why if you drag race a truck, racing with it down would be key for extra traction on the rear. I do believe this is in the wrong section though bud
