Could you be more specific?

Automatic, 4-speed, or 5-speed? For what year, preferably? Do you need a clutch as well?

I am interested in a 4-speed -- am presuming it will bolt to 86 13B regardless of the year of the truck it came from (is this a safe assumption)?

Are the 4 speed ratios the same as 1 through 4 on a 5-speed?

Regarding the clutch, I am planning to put a "quartermaster" style cluthc/flywheel unit on it. I think I might need the starter ring gear (especially if it is a different diameter than 1st gen RX7) Are there any other clutch compatability issues I should be aware of?

What kind of money would you want for a 4-speed (presuming you have one)?

Are parts for these gearboxes readily available through Mazda, Mazda Competition, etc?

Thanks for any advice you can give!!

John:

As far as I know, all the transmissions' bellhousings have the same bolt pattern. However, your clutches and flywheels do differ: rotary pickups had the heaviest stock flywheels at 33 lbs., for example, and the clutch has 9 bolts, as opposed to the 6 on the closest match after that, which would be rx-4... unknown to me how interchangeable 2nd-gen rx-7 stuff is... Your REPU 4-speed did not have the same ratios as 1-4 on a 5-speed... and those ratios changed somewhat with year and model as well, apparently... Racing Beat I believe has the info on what year/model had what gearing... I have a list of what years came with what flywheels, courtesy of spuds... What is a "quartermaster" clutch? 4-puck?
Sorry, I don't have any 4-speed trannys, for sale or otherwise...REPU 4-speeds seem to be quite the rarity out there...I'm running 1st-gen rx-7 and rx-4 wagon 5-speeds.
Hope this helps! --K.
