WTB 87-88 B2600 MT Bellhousings

I know this is the rotary forums, but maybe some one here did a swap and has one laying around. This is the only Mazda small truck specific forum I have found so far.

What I need specifically is the 87-88 B2600 bellhousing from the 2.555L (G54B) motor and not the 2.606L (G6) motor.

I also have 4 JDM series 5 RX7 transmissions to sell or trade. I'd even appreciate any email addresses, URLs, message boards or phone numbers of people who can get me more info.

Oh, trust me, I've tried. No local yards have them for those years. Ebay has had 1 tranny.. but it was 4WD and they wouldnt separate it from the box and shipping was high becuase of it being 4WD (and a full transmission). Google and even www.car-part.com are giving me troubles.

I've already been sent the wrong 2.6 bellhousing once. I'm looking for an enthusiast... if they're anything like people are with my car, they have a parking lot of parts cars and a shed of parts... and they know what they're dealing with.

i'll keep an eye out

i have seen a few 87 or 88's in the boneyard but unsure of motor displacement. Never heard of a 2.555L but take your word it exists. Was that a diesel or mid-year change or something?

Ahh Hell.....

I just gave my '87 B2600 away about a month ago, but the friend who has it may wind up with an extra trans, since he's putting one decent truck together from two '87s. I always thought the difference between the '87-88 and '89+ EFI engines was the heads (aside from the carb to EFI change), but I'm assuming the bellhousings and block castings are different according to what you said.... I'll see if I can scare something up for you- I need an inexpensive T2 trans myself....

I have some JDM Series 5 transmissions still if you need one. Keep me updated on the bellhousing. I'm going to horde as many as possible.

Good News...

I will have a bellhousing off an '87 for you here in the next day or two (I'm just going to buy it off my friend I mentioned). Although I'm not looking to really "make money" off it, could you spare one of your transmissions for it? I'm dropping an S4 13B into a 1980 chassis, so a low mileage trans sure would be nice to put behind it. Give me a call when you get a chance 616-225-0780.

Neal.

Do you want the bellhousings or not? I have one here now, and can go get another one for you, but I'm not going to take the time if you don't want them. I never heard from you after my last post.

Yeah I do. The hold up was me waiting to get one for myself to prove that the RX7 transmission / B2600 bellhousing / Mitsubishi wide block really worked. It does! Looks really tidy too. Catch me on AIM: DJpowerHaus or email: manga_cowboy@hotmail.com to talk $$
