Thanks for the reply; I've taken it to a local Mazda rotary specialist...there is a gear (looks like white plastic) and clutch mechanism on the backside; first symptom was the odometer stopped working...once the gear was glued, the odometer works but the needle jumps like crazy throughout the speed range instead of the nice steady rise of a normal speedometer...the fellow is thinking of using the faceplate and then the guts from some new speedometer mechanism...
As far as price goes...that is a tough one; I've owned this REPU since 1974 and it's in great shape otherwise including the racing beat header, three speed automatic transmission, etc. I don't want to insult your intelligence but price/ money are still a limiting factor in my life. Can I throw the ball back in your court and ask the price that you would be willing to part with it for?

speedometer

everyone iv'e seen jumps around at certain speeds, when they get older . the only way for me to know what any of my spares do would be to replace the one in my truck. are you in a hurry

Another member came up with the speedo as well as a steering wheel bushing and those rubber hood bumbers! As soon as the stuff arrives and I've installed the same, I'll post my progress! Thanks for now...but you can bet something else will give way down the road... not bad for over thirty years of fun though...
