I have one...

...that came from the '77 rx-4 wagon I used to own.
Thing is, I kinda wanna keep it... How bad do you want it? Let me know; I might be your source of last resort... Or: what might you be offering in trade?

thanks for the reply Klaus!

For trade right now I have a RB 2 piece intake manifold for 13b 4port. Might put some engine parts up for trade/sale now that I put a deposit on a sweet 13b 4port streetported outright purchase.

Need any engine parts? What's your price?

My price...

...has not been determined... . It's probably worth more to either of us than it technically might otherwise merit--though the last time I drove the wagon in question, it worked fine; this was years ago, though, and it was out of my hands before getting scrapped/parted... I had one guy tell me, "..those are $800 transmissions, used...". I just laughed, and said, "Yeah, right--and how many guys have come looking for one at that price in the last year?"
Bits I 'need': A nice set of rotor housings, either 4-port 13B or GSL-SE, (ha ha)--always, naturally. Intake does interest me, but what I'd really need most there is a complete, functioning setup, carb. and manifold, to replace my boogered stock Hitachi on my stock port (JDM?)R-5 4-port 13B 'driver'. I am running the RB header...
A 'decent' shape dellorto, weber, or holley setup --though used, obviously--might fill the bill...
Of course, I think I'm dreaming again, now...

This thread reminds me of the "WTB: 4port 13b" thread. I'm always interested in who'll blink first.

Everyone likes to dance around price. Its either a matter of wanting to see what the other guy will offer so you don't lowball youself (and he's thinking the exact same thing from his end) or lack of desire to actually part with it. Either way if you want a starting point with a part, call your local boneyard and ask them how much would run. If they don't have one in their yard they'll still have a price, its usually set by book and supply/demand ratio.

Stock FC trans: $600-$1,000
Rebuilt FC trans: $1,200-$1,400

Those are "central Florida dollars".

You can bet your boopy the boneyard knows how much a new one is and how much a rebuild is and they price accordingly.

Once you get some kind of number out there, cut a brother a break. That is if you really want to part with it.

Me? I hording those buggers like they were 90 lbs of gold.

Sorry, but I'm going to need one "one day" and they aren't going to be any easier to find then.

I'm not even sure you can order internals for them, can you?

Craig can you give us the scoop on whether the guts are still available from the dealer or some other source?
