For all you purists.....
....I have a complete intake and carb including the air pump and all of the smog crap. Also have the complete original exhaust with the little vacuum cleaner tip. All in great condition. I have no idea whats its worth so I thouhgt I'd put this out there and see what happens. I also have a pair of coils and a stock fuel pump. I'd like to do a package deal for everything. I'm located in San Diego.

Well...
Klaus- I definitely wasn't trying to snipe anything out from under you. I have not called Max, and have not heard from him on my end (hope to, though). If you don't take the stuff, you know I will. Ideally, I want two full sets of spares of all things stock for my truck. Stock exhaust and smog equipment in whole or in part, I'll aggressively go after, except against a good friend. After you work things out with Max, let me know what I can buy. My truck has an automatic carb right now, hence why I would go after the whole package if you pass. My exhaust tip is slightly bent, but liveable by all means. If I have to bribe you with a header so I can have the stock stuff, let me know.

I know you weren't, Neal.
...and I was merely referring to having responded to Max about this, to the effect that...
A.) I thought he should keep the whole shebang with the red REPU, and...
B.) If he wasn't doing that, he should contact you, because you'd likely be his #1 customer, and...
C.) If here *were* to consider parting those bits, I let him know what I might be interested in.
(I never heard back from Max.)
BTW: There's still a stock exhaust system likely waiting for you from another REPU friend... no doubt not nearly as *pristine* as what Max has to offer... but, I'd suggested to Dave, the owner, that you would likely want it. I think it could perhaps be your's for near the cost of shipping -- as to which you'd have to be in touch with him. Let me know! ;)
You don't have to bribe me, Neal... but I'll not turn down a free 13B header, either...

Our govenor Arnold wants to turn the golden state into the green state and is aggressively putting plans in place to reduce pollutants across the board. The tree hugging crystal grabbers want to remove the bi-annual smog exemptions for pre 76 vehicles, and sacramento is listening. SEMA is worried as all it takes is a signature. Especially with this whole popular, trendy Green Initiative we see everywhere. Darn that Al Gore.
Remember, the 30 year rolling exemption got stopped.

I had no idea. That's not good news for any classic, hotrod, or vintage *anything*!
I mean, I'm all for doing the right thing, but...
Guess that means it's time for those rx-8 swaps.

There might be a riot in So-Cal if the Governator signs that into law. There are quite a few guys with pre-76 hot rods running around this area and they wouldn't be too happy.
