4.625 rear end for sale

I have a 1974 4.625 rear axle for sale, does not include brake drums or shoes, but does have good wheel cylinders that are only about 8,000 miles old.

The rear end has 105K total miles, and does not leak, growl or whine. It was not used for towing. I just swapped in a 3.90 rear axle from a 77 truck, as the 4.62 was just too frantic with my turbocharged 13B. I live in Southern CA, and if anyone just wants the differential, I could probably ship it.

If anyone is interested call me at 949-981-0347(cell).

Thanks, Paul

Hey Paul, I'm in the process of putting a 77' diff. in my 74'. Are you happy with the results? Did you loose alot of bottom end?

I am quite happy with the 3.90 rear axle. The truck is basically just as fast as before in the upper gears, and 1st gear is now 90% usable. Before, just punching the throttle meant instant wheelspin once the boost hit. The side benefit is an increase of fuel mileage from 19-20 to 22-23mpg. I have about 230 hp in my truck at this time. It is a Turbo II with an 80mm downpipe and a 3" exhaust, and a three inch intake pipe. I am running about 10lbs of boost currently.

Still available

The rear axle is still available. $ 80.00 plus shipping if necessary. I am cleaning out the garage.

That sounds like a deal!

If I really *needed* it -- and were within pickup range of you -- I'd be all over that.

Think about it, guys: Those wheel cylinders make this one... extra worth picking up!

Someone's gonna score...
