Found brake parts NEW 74 repu

well i got a 74 repu and a front caliper was locked up so i said to myself, i might as well just redo the front brakes totally. after looking online and at local stores(online) i found everything is still out there. wheel bearings both inner and outter grease seals, rotors, calipers, hardware kit for calipers, pads (the same as a 1st gen) the hardest part to tack down was new brake lines but autozone could order them in for me...
I will be swaping out the (stupid) rev. treaded studs so both sides are right tight left loose.... that was a shocker to learn.
I think i paid 28$ for a pair of new rotors
20 for front pads with shims
35 each for the calipers with new hardware
about 30 to get the bearings and seal per side
and 16 per brake line

Hey BA

Did you order the steel lines from autozone? I've got a broken one on the rear (damn visegrips slipped), it's the short one that comes from the bottom wheel cylinder.

Stupid = Cool

Who needs locking studs, when you've got reverse threads? Lol!

...on old Mopar trucks, as well, BTW... (reverse threads on driver's side).

left front caliper rattles

after installing rebuilt front calipers, and new hardware with the exception of used caliper shims (go between caliper and caliper bracket). the left front rotor rattles and can be easily moved by hand quite a bit, when the brake pedal is not pressed.

so.. when driving down road, hit a bump, the left front caliper makes a real bad rattle-rattle-rattle. If i push the brake pedal when on bumpy road, the rattling stops.

Is this a case of needing new caliper shims? if so anyone got part number of factory original? or is the caliper losing pressure and there not enough brake pressure? I don't see any fluid loss.
