Hello fd3boost,

Welcome to the club.I was in the same situation as you were a few months ago. I really wanted one as well but lived up here in the north east as well(Massachusetts). I got lucky though after placing a wanted ad in the forum like you did I had a member from Georgia email me with some pictures of his truck that he wanted to sell. I had it shipped up here at a cost of $950 which seems high but after dealing with a place that was local to me that wa sway cheaper but kept lying to me about when they were going to pick it up.I luckily had a friend that drove up from florida to look at the truck for me,and took a bunch of pictures.I would say like the others if you really want it take a trip down south or out west when you find one for sale,or have a club member look it over for you if they are local.Well maybe that would be a bad idea because these guys may just buy it out from under you.

The unfortunate part about living up here is the old school rotaries were not sold alot up here, and the ones that were never lived long with all the crappy weather and salt we have.Good luck with your search. If you find one up my way(New england)I would be happy to go look at it for you. That is not likely but I figured I would offer.Remember if you really want one bad it will happen.

Hey, Hey,...now hold on a minute...Chris...

...Although we do all have the same goal of collecting trucks and parts, there is a bit of honor and respect among us. I can't recall a time in the past where a member scooped up a truck out from under another while on a recon sortie to check condition for another member. We only seem to collide on Ebay.

I think pretty much any of the members would assess the condition of a truck and snap pics for another and we always announce that a truck is found that we think others would be interested in.

The Northeast seems to be the biggest challenge area as far a obtaining a truck, so contact with others on the forum and a trip or third party assessment will probably be in order and there is most likely going to be a member closer by willing to help assist you.

FD3, where here for you, if you want one, are patient, and willing to reach, like Chris said, you'll get one.

Hey nwaco I was only kidding. I realize you guys are out to help.I was just joking about what you alluded to with the e-bay wars and all. I really wish I lived out west. The wife and I were actually looking into moving out there back in 2001 (to the Seattle area) but soon after we found out she was pregnant with our first child so moving the little one away from the grandparents wasn't an option any more.Maybe some day I will move out there, and then I can root on my Mariners as a home team, and hunt down the fine vintage japanese cars and trucks that seem to be abundant out there.

Again good luck FD3 I will help in any way I can if you need assistance.I can even give you the name of the auto transporter I used. They were super friendly, and profesional.

Again I would like to say I was indeed joking the people on this forum are great, and I would never have found my 74 without this place.

Chris

I know guy, I too was just kidding around...

but, I have to ribb ya when I get an opening. You left yourself open for that one you know. Any way, there is definately no hard feelings here, and anyone is open to get help here when they ask.

We all share a common interest here, and helping each other only helps ourselves in this endeavour.
