Where is it/are you located?

What year 6-port, with how many miles on it--and how many on the REPU? Which transmission? Any way/place we could see some pics? Thanks!

Gee whiz Klaus, you might think about diversifying a little. How many '74's does a man need?! :) :)

It's not for me...

...I'm just trying to promote and 'represent'... and satisfy my own curiosity! I know, I post too much...

Suuuuure :)

"Its not for me."

I've heard THAT before :P

Actually somedays I wish everyone would post as often as you or me. (THough I feel like I overdo it most of the time.) Over the last year this board hsa become my primary hangout. Sometimes when I open up the ol' mailer and there's no 'PU content I get depressed :)

BTW, did we or did we not get that insert thing sorted out? Cause I'm leaving town for a while and would like to know whether I should hit that fastener shop before I leave town.

Honest! I haven't the funds, time, or energy to do more...

...right now. As for the 'insert thing'-- 1.)My experience with fastener shops is they do not have what I'm looking for...no matter what they do have with these threads...but of course, I'm still open to possibilities...
2.) Absolutely everyone I've been in touch with about this, so far, --in terms of the custom-machined component-- has told me how simple and easy it is... but I still haven't seen one! Even asking "how much?", and suggesting best shipping method, has not gotten one to me, yet. Of course, there might just be a package waiting at my mailbox as I write this...

Hey,

I'm looking at threaded inserts right now (they're threaded on the inside and outside) and their about $1.50 each.

Inside thread pitch is 10x1.25. Outside thread can be metric or standard.

Complication:

How do we do it so that it threads on tight AND pointed in the right direction? That is that it tightens at the right time?

Perhaps a nylon lock-nut would be best afterall.

Let me know if you want the inserts.

it'll snug tight when the knob threads all the way down onto the shift lever and runs outta threads to go down on.

right angle/direction is all dependant upon proper placement of the insert inside the pyrex knobby.

OMG...

Klaus I owe you an apology. I didn't realise that my profile had a defunct email address listed. I just fished those emails out of that account and will be replying to you presently.

Oops :{

Sorry about that.
