FS: 89 Mazda B2200 extended cab (Tampa, FL)

Not a REPU.. but great candidate for a swap.

I got this as a gift from my father, and ended up buying a 96 Cavalier from my grandparents for $2 so this has to go. My dad drove it for years and my grandfather owned it before him since 89 or 90 so I know its been well maintained (for the most part, as you'll see). I always used it to haul stuff to the dump or around town, and as my d/d.

Its an 89 Mazda B2200, 2.2L, 5-speed M/T.

The good:
It runs. It drives. It's actually quite fun to drive, even with its 90hp engine.
Decent gas mileage (I get 400km's on a 12 gal fill)

New weber carb (4 months w/ 1000 miles on it-- I drove to/from work and home for lunch every day, 3 miles each way)

New pacesetter header, wrapped, same time as the carb. Carb + header was $500

Tune-up done at the same time as those pieces-- oil, filter, plugs, new air filter w/ carb, fixed a bunch of vac leaks, removed unnecessary electronics that went with the stock carb, pcv valve

The body, for the most part, is very straight. Very few dents & dings, except the big one on the driver's door.

Just put in a new 5-spd transmission from a 91. The stock one had the little cup that holds the shifter into it break, the shifter slipped out of the carrier, the shaft is in god-knows-what position (the transmission is stuck in 3rd gear). It could be fixed but I don't know how so I swapped it. The new trans shifts butter smooth and it's very crisp.

Brand new battery, it was on the truck less than 100 miles before the transmission died on me.

The bad:
AC works but needs a charge. I have the refridgerant in the glove box but don't know how to do it, lol. Heat works.

It could use some paint and has a little rust in the bed and some surface rust that can be sanded right off with some 200 grit above the hood and a little on the roof. I planned to just sand it and get a $100 Econo paint job.

The fuel level sender isn't working right now but is an easy fix. It's a known problem with the B-series trucks which requires pulling the unit out of the gas tank and re-bending a wire to make contact with a rail. I'm just too lazy to do it, I just refill it at 400km's on the clock every time

Needs the driver's side door pounded out or replaced, some ass backed into it. Right now you have to open the passenger-side door to unlock the driver's side then go around to get in since the locking mechanism is being blocked from moving by the dent. The glass will roll all the way down though.

The whatever:
The speedo reads in km/h, with mph also on there in smaller print (kinda like USDM cars but in reverse) as this was originally purchased in Canada.

Really all this truck needs is a door, paint job, and A/C charge, everything else is awesome.

$1000 FIRM.

I live in Tampa, FL. It's available for you to come see it. I don't get on here much so please email me (mblawson@gmail.com) or call me (813-500-7602). Sorry I dont have any engine shots but it's the stock engine with a weber carb and pacesetters, you've seen it before lol.

Email for pics, cant attach at work.
