Air Horns

Not installed but will include a full roll cage, 5 point racing harnesses w/ Rotary logo embroidered, MSD 6 ignition module, extra front rotors, full carpet kit (black), center dash bezel, and other misc extras

Battery tray and door are in excellent shape. Body is a 7.5 out of 10. All glass is in great condition.

The bad... for some.

No heater, no heater controls, no heater/defrost fan, none of that. No factory fuel tank. Door seals are bad and as such it leaks water into the interior in heavy rain. A few dents and a little rust in the usual places.

The real bad...

The engine over-heated and will need new apex seals, and coolant seals. Rob at Pineapple Racing says bring the short block in and it'll be $600-$8000 and it's running again. It runs now, but very hard to start due to low compression and coolant in the compression chambers.

296rwhp on a streetport 13b?

Has that been dyno'd or an educated guess?

SWEET TRUCK by the way, dig the dual trapps and gauges.

That's kinda what I was thinking...

Next questions: Why did it fail? Mileage on chassis? Still running the stock open diff?

...(Good thing "MUST POST PRICES!" only applies to the 'Flea Market' section...) ;b

I almost misread that price quote, too... yep, that range could about finish a project truck, alright...

BTW: Yahoo wants me to join in order to view those pic's -- have you considered Photobucket, or perhaps my li'l old MSN-Group, MazdaRotaryEnginePickup? You'd be more than welcome to create your own album, there... (Which reminds me, I haven't checked in over there in far too many months! D'oh!)

Why it failed

I imagine there are several reasons for the failing seals. Most likely its due to the fact that the engine overheated and created too much heat for the springs, thus the low compression. Also the fact that I was using my weekend sleeper as a daily driver for work. As you well know rotary enigines create a lot of heat and when they get too hot, like most engines, they have problems.

In a perfect world I would spend the $1000 and keep on truckin', however I would like to get back to having the niceties of A/C, power steering, a bit more leg room (i'm 6' tall) and the ability to seat 4.

Life throws us curves, you either choke up and swing or duck and run. Im choking up and swinging for the fences. SO the truck goes to the next person with the time to tinker.
